Captain Jeffrey Lewis

Reverend Captain Lewis is a professional captain, educator, and pastor. Ordained as an Episcopal priest, he now serves as vicar of the non-denominational Union Church on Vinalhaven Island, Maine.

Reverend Captain Lewis offers pastoral care in an effort to provide positive guidance in life challenges.

MEALS ON WHEELS

The church host the ‘Meals on Wheels’ program delivering food to the local community.
LUNCHBOX

Join us for a community home-cooked meal. Mondays at 11:30AM. (Delivery only at this time.)
FOOD PANTRY

Despite the pandemic, our ‘Food Pantry’ is still going strong and available to all in need.
BEAN SUPPERS

Bean Suppers are a long-standing tradition in Maine, and have been enjoyed here for years.
PET FOOD PANTRY

We all love our pets! Our pet food pantry happens at the same time as our food pantry.
CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL

Each Sunday from 9:30am-10:30am we explore and play music, singing, and we teach Christian and community values.
JINGLE BELLS CHRISTMAS FUND

Each year, the Union Church provides | donates winter clothing to island children. In 2022 we supported 44 island children.
SUNSHINE COMMITTEE

In December, we deliver approximately ninety fresh fruit and cookie ‘Sunshine Baskets’ to the elderly community.
